Those
envoys, who are clearly ordered by Janaka entered the city of Ayodhya after three
days. On getting an audience of Dasharatha, they conveyed the message of King
Janaka. They
reminded him the oath of King Janaka that Seeta would be given in marriage to
the person, who can lift the great bow. The told him that Sage Vishvamitra
arrived in Mithila, alongwith Shri Rama and Lakshmana. They added that Shri Rama had lifted that
bow and broken it. And, as per the
promise, King Janaka would like to perform the marriage of Seeta with Shri
Rama and invited King Dasaratha to Mithila. King
Dasharatha was very happy with that news and informed his family priests,
ie., Vashishta, Vaamadeva, and to his other ministers and all decided to go
over to Mithila. |

On
the next day, king Dasharatha started his journey to Mithila, along with
priests, Ministers, his relatives and army. On fourth day, King Dasharatha
reached the Videha kingdom, and on hearing this, the king Janaka arranged for
welcome ceremonies at the outskirts of the city. King
Janaka performed ritual acts according to scriptures for the Vedic-ritual on
hand, and the preparatory rituals for handing out both of his daughters in
marriage. |
